So This Happened Last Night!

I have been part of several running crews in the past few years. It's a great way to get out, push yourself to run a 5k after work, get to know new people and fellow runners, and partake in a frosty beverage after pushing yourself!

Last night was the first opportunity that I had to run with Running for Brews in St. Petersburg. I first learned of this group while running in the Rock and Roll St. Pete Half when members of this social running group had a cheer station at mile 10! Who wouldn't want to be part of a group like that!?!

According to their website, RFB has locations in Tampa, FL, Dunedin, FL, Atlantic Beach, FL, Brandon, FL, Boulder, CO, and Chatanooga, TN. Their website says:

Combining weekly runs, social events, themed runs, and charity events completed the full circle of how and why Running for Brews continues to grow. Each location meets on a weekly basis, runs a 5k-designated route, and then enjoys brews and great conversation with like-minded folks.
As John McMahan, one of the group's founders notes, “It is not all about the brews. The brews are just a bonus to building new relationships and creating a unique community of runners/walkers. Week in and week out, we have met thousands of individuals who have our same interests in mind.”

So I gave it a shot....and within minutes, I knew that I would love this group if the first thing we did, pre-run, was a constume-filled Harlem Shake!

If you are looking for a fun time on Mondays (at the Ale and Witch in St. Pete), Wednesdays (at Crowley's in St. Pete), and Thursdays (at MacDitton's in St. Pete) then get out there at 7 and run (and drink, of course!)
