A DIY and a Giveaway!

I have constantly been asked if the band on my right wrist is symbolic of something. Kabbalah maybe? A Livestrong-type charity? Nope, nothing special here. Just a hairband. Now I know that this is not riveting content, but from someone who has severe hair breakage, these particular hairbands save my locks (or what's left of them). Unfortunately, they are pretty pricey. $15 for 5 at Anthropologie! They also vary in price on Etsy. So I tried my best to come up with an alternative.

I visited Sunshine Shoppe Supply for wholesale elastic. This shop was fast and had a variety of colors as well as other supplies. For about $15, I received almost 40 yards of colored elastic!!!

I cut each elastic into 3 to 3.5 inch long pieces. Once cut, I tied each in a knot. In order to keep the pieces from fraying, be sure to heat the ends with a lighter.

For the price of $15, I made approximately 100 hair ties.
AND NOW, A GIVEAWAY!!!
From now until Sunday, October 21st, I will be giving 5 ties to any reader who posts a comment to the blog, or provides a link to "From Pumps to Pumas" on their Facebook or blog. If you post to a blog, please provide the link to me in a comment with your email address so that I may contact you about mailing!
Thank you for all your support in getting the word out about Pumps!
