Shamrock (Protein) Shake

I admit that I am guilty of indulging in a McDonald's Shamrock Shake once a year. There is nothing like it....except for the new Lucky Creme forzen yogurt flavor at Yogurtland. Yum!

Pinterest shared a lot of recipies for a shamrock shake that you could make at home.  There was also this great recipie on Cupcakes and Cashmere. So I tried to make a more "waist friendly" version.

SHAMROCK PROTEIN SHAKE

 
Ingredients:
 
1 cup ice
1 cup almond milk (or almond coconut milk)
1 scoop ground flax
1 scoop vanilla whey protein - 100 calorie
3 drops green food coloring
1/2 to 1 cup cottage cheese
1/2 tsp mint extract (go easy on this!! It can be very strong!)
1 tsp vanilla extract
 
Optional - dark chocolate chips, green sprinkles or whipped cream
