New Orleans - Post I

This year for New Years, Mickey and I wanted to go somewhere that we have never been before. In the past, we have gone camping with friends or stayed on Gasparilla Island.  This time, we ventured to New Orleans for a few beignets and gumbo!

We arrived in New Orleans early on Saturday, and were picked up by our honorary tour guide and friend, Joe, who took us over Lake Pontchatrain and over to the Abita Brewery.  The tour was free, and we quickly learned in the few days there how popular this beer was!

I highly recommend this tour if you can get there from New Orleans. Try going to the 2:00 p.m. tasting. It seems to be more laid back and they don't have to kick you out afterwards for another tour!
